The agreement enables mutual recognition for individuals holding corresponding professional grades of membership in either body.

The CIPD is charity organisation based in the UK and is established to promote the art and science of development of people and management.

The SABPP is a South African based human resources professional body and quality assurance body.

SABPP (CHRP, MHRP)

CIPD (Chartered Member, Chartered Fellow)

• Complete a membership application form
• Give consent that this information will be validated by the ‘home’ institute
• Applicants must be registered members of their home Institute at the time of submitting an Application
• A copy of the Applicant’s CV outlining experience in HR roles including management /leadership roles and contribution to the HR profession/community.
• The Services are available regardless of the country of residence of the Applicant

Both parties retain the right to refuse Professional Membership if appropriate levels of experience are not evident. This will be at the sole discretion of the party assessing the eligibility of the Applicant.
The relevant Institute will make an assessment of the evidence based on the evidence provided with the application, however both parties reserve the right to contact the applicant to undertake a further assessment using a professional discussion if required.

• Once off Joining fee : joining CIPD; £40 Joining SABPP;R850
• Membership Fees shall be the current annual subscription fee for the level appropriate
• Evidence that Professional Membership is current and that all Membership Fees have been paid.

The agreement is initially set for two years starting on the 14th of November 2022 and ending on the 13th of November 2024. The agreement may be renewable depending on the needs of both bodies.
